Born and raised north of Boston and living in the Tampa Bay area since 1989, Ruthie never imagined herself as a wedding and event planner amidst the sunny beaches of Florida. Her education at the University of South Florida and career were in the field of Human Resources. Working with people was always a part of her career plan, but it wasn't until her own wedding that Ruthie discovered her passion.

While planning her own wedding in 2006, Ruthie and her fiance David knew exactly what they wanted: an intimate and romantic beach wedding, family, close friends, a beach house, stretch of sand, beautiful palm trees and the crashing of the waves.  It was during this time that Ruthie decided to embark on a new career to continue her newfound love of wedding / event planning.

That same year she joined the Association of Bridal Consultants and started her journey by assisting a local Accredited Bridal Consultant in the area. As an intern and apprentice for 2 years, Ruthie assisted with multiple weddings and events that included Church, beach and Catholic weddings, birthday luaus, anniversary parties, and commitment ceremonies to name a few.

Ruthie continues her education through the Association of Bridal Consultants, which provides in-depth training in the wedding and event industry. Attending workshops, seminars, local networking meetings and bridal shows keeps her abreast and up-to-date on all the latest industry trends and allows her to continuously hone her skills.

After three years of training, Ruthie's tenacity, attention to detail, and commitment paid off when she opened Costa del Sol Weddings in February 2009.  Ruthie's success stems from her belief that each and every one of her clients deserve the event of their dreams as well as the personal touch of Costa del Sol Weddings.
